Android SmartWatches is in an ideal place in 2025. From the point of view of the equipment, there have never been so many quality watches to choose – with Google, Samsung and OnePlus offering all excellent options. The software is also solid. Wear OS 5’s smartwatch operating system is the most reliable in Google, and we should see important upgrades soon with Wear OS 6.
Having worn a OnePlus 3 watch in recent months, I’m talking about experience when I say there has never been a better time to be in the clothing bone camp. The Watch 3 OnePlus is a great portable, offering a chic design, a fantastic drum life and robust health features that I really appreciated. This is an excellent example of what an Android smartwatch looks like when it shoots all cylinders.
After saying all of this, I recently removed the intelligent watch from OnePlus and replaced it with my Ultra 2 Apple Watch that I wore before that – and I can’t see myself coming back so early. As much as I like the OnePlus Watch 3 and as strong as the use platform for the operating system at the moment, there are a few things on the Apple Watch that I just can’t stop.
Do you use an Apple Watch or wear watch?

1) Support of applications and accessories

The Apple Watch has long had a hand on laptops to carry the operating system in terms of third -party developer support and accessories. It is a gap that exists for years, and whether it is right or not, it is a great reason why the Apple Watch works better for me.
Regarding third -party applications, there are a handful of Apple Watch applications that I regularly use that are simply not available on the operating system. Spark, my mail application of choice, has an excellent Apple Watch application which facilitates navigation on my reception box and archive the spam of my wrist. Although there is a Spark Android application that I use daily on the OnePlus 13, there is no version of wear to speak. The same goes for 1Password, Authy, Delta and Oura. Everyone has an Apple Watch application that I found very useful, but when I use a Wear OS watch, it is nonexistent.

This is a similar situation for third -party accessories. Since the Apple Watch has existed for years – and has used the same watch strip system and the same load mechanism all this time – there are many choices for watch strips and load docks that work with it.
Nomad is one of my favorite accessory brands, making Apple Watch groups and platforms that I use daily. I also have an Aukey Apple Watch / iPhone / Airpods charging station which was a boon on my bedside table. There is no shortage of high quality Apple Watch accessories like this, and it is a level of support that you simply do not get with a Google Pixel Watch 3 or Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra.
2) Apple Fitness Plus integration

I have subscribed to Apple Fitness Plus for a few years now, and it is by far my favorite training service that I have ever used. The training sessions on a treadmill regularly boot my buttocks and push my current endurance, while the strength training programs helped me to remain in accordance with the improvement of my upper and lower strength of the body.
The real fitness kicker plus is how it works perfectly on the Apple Watch and the iPhone.
In addition to the exercise and quality of the coach, the real fitness kicker is how it works perfectly on the Apple Watch and the iPhone. When you start a fitness plus training from your iPhone, it automatically starts on your Apple Watch. During training, the health statistics of your Apple Watch are displayed on the screen of your iPhone – including your heart rate, your burnt calories and distance.
In particular during the exercises on treadmill, seeing these figures without taking a look at my wrist is a massive convenience. This allows me to keep a constant eye on my heart rate to see if I push myself strong enough without ruining my shape of running in front always looking at my wrist. This is one of the things that I miss most when I wear a Wear OS watch, and when you use fitness more several times a week as I do, it is difficult to live without.
3) Imessage notifications
Joe Maring / Android authority
Imessage. Love it or hate it, it is something that many of my friends and members of my family use, and it means that there are notifications that I like to stay on top throughout the day. When I use a Wear OS watch associated with my Android phone, I simply do not get these notifications on my wrist, which gives many missed messages and late responses. However, when I wear my Apple watch, this is not a problem. All my notifications Imessage appear as planned, ensuring that I am not missing anything important.
There is not much else to say here. Imessage is not my mail platform of choice, but that does not change the fact that so many people I know use it daily. And if I want to stay above the texts of them, I need to wear an Apple Watch instead of a Wear One OS.
4) Apple Music App
Joe Maring / Android authority
On the Apple Watch, Apple Music works perfectly. I can browse the entire Apple Music catalog, download songs from my library for offline reading, broadcast songs independently of my iPhone with an LTE connection, and even control the reading of the Apple Mud-Back music of the HomePod Mini speakers in my office.
There is not such a Apple Music application available for Wear OS, and because of this, none of this is possible when I wear something like Watch OnePlus 3. And as Apple Music’s daily user, it is a road barrage difficult to overcome.
5) Other characteristics of quality of life

Finally, although it is not as important as things described above, there are a few other characteristics of the smaller Apple watch that I miss each time I am in the OS Wear camp.
One of them is something that I have already complained a few times this year. Wear OS does not natively support several timers, and it is an astounding omission. Whether it’s cooking or keeping a trace of the washer and dryer on the day of the laundry, I often launch several timers at a time, and I prefer to have them on my wrist rather than on my phone. Meanwhile, Apple Watch performs several timers without sweating.
Likewise, so that basic voice commands define a timer or create a reminder, Siri is far better than the current experience of Google Assistant on Wear OS. Not only is it much faster, but I also like to be able to issue these orders even when my Apple Watch is not connected to my iPhone. Siri being able to treat certain basic tasks on disk without a required internet connection has been legitimately useful over the years, and its features that I have missed several times by carrying the OnePlus 3 watch in recent months.
Apple Watch is the best fit for me

At this stage of the article, it should be obvious that almost all these reasons depend on my personal use habits. If you are not using Apple Fitness Plus, do not talk to people who use imessage and do not subscribe to Apple Music, you are much less encouraged to use an Apple Watch on the many available operating system options.
But if you TO DO Finding yourself using these Apple services – and you prefer a strong support for applications / accessories and more reliable voice commands – the superiority of the Apple Watch is terribly difficult to ignore. This does not mean that bone bone watches are bad, but according to your priorities, an Apple Watch can be more logical.
Depending on your priorities, an Apple Watch may make more sense.
This is finally where I find myself. I am a big fan and a supporter of Wear OS, and I was lucky to try a new laptop running the software, I am on it. But when it is time to choose a smartwatch that best suits me and my life, this title still belongs to the Apple Watch. It is for years, and awaiting spectacular changes, will probably remain thus for a while to come.
