Your new Galaxy Watch 8 may not work on the new beta version of Android

Obtaining the new devices in and the latest version of Android on the devices goes hand in hand, but the new Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 is not exactly ready to manage the latest beta version of Android.

Update 7/22: With the deployment of Android 16 QPR1 Beta 3, it seems that the previous bug which blocked the Galaxy Watch Manager plugin of the installation was resolved.

After installing the update, our Pixel 9 Pro Fold managed to switch a classic Galaxy Watch 8 twinned on a Galaxy S25 on, without complete reset. When the previous version of Android would have the Galaxy Wearable App Crash at the Watch Manager prompt, the application is powered to associate the Watch 8 Classic.

If you bought a Galaxy Watch 8 Classic or Watch 8 while using a pixel on Android 16 Beta, it seems that there are no more compatibility problems.

The Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic are excellent devices. They seem to feel more comfortable on the wrist and look great, although this opinion can vary between some who do not particularly like the design of cushion.

Samsung took advantage of the opportunity to launch The new watches With an UI 8 watch, which works on Wear OS 6. These are the first devices with Wear OS 6, and the change is immediately noticeable. The tiles are stacked now, and the whole user interface is a little more snap, although some of this can be attributed to a new shiny sock.

Unfortunately, some may find that there are compatibility problems outside the box for the Watch 8 series. If you use an Android device running any version of the Android 16 QPR1 BETA – on a pixel, for example – you can see that the watch cannot be twinned on your phone.

It was first spotted a few weeks ago When the Android 16 Beta was a little cooler. The upgrade to an unfinished beta version of the new Google software meant that Samsung devices were no longer compatible with paved phones. The specific problem appeared during the use of Android 16 QPR1 BETA 2.1 on a Pixel 8A, although we had very similar problems while trying to associate a Galaxy Watch 8 Classic with a Pixel 9 Pro Plé on the same Android construction.

In our case, the Galaxy Wearable Application is trying to download the Watch Manager plugin, but the download fails and the application is blocking. This, in turn, starts the pair process again, and the watch 8 will have to restart in some cases. Overall, it’s a pain, but not unexpected.

If you are looking to buy the new Galaxy Watch 8 or Watch 8 Classic from Samsung, do it with public Android construction. It works perfectly well on pixels and other devices, with loss of minor functionalities. However, the two watches are a significant upgrade on any device.
