Shanghai – The technological race between the two biggest economies in the world has intensified.
China on Saturday published a global action plan for artificial intelligencecalling for international cooperation on technological development and regulation.
The news came while the annual conference of the world of artificial intelligence organized by the State began in Shanghai with an opening speech by Prime Minister Li Qiang, which announced that the Chinese government had proposed the creation of a world cooperation organization in AI, according to a official reading.
A few days earlier, US President Donald Trump announced an American action plan for AI which included calls to reduce “awakened” prejudices in AI models and support the deployment of American technology abroad.
“The two camps are being trained,” said George Chen, associated with the Asia group and co -president of digital practice.
“China clearly wants to stick to the multilateral approach while the United States wants to build its own camp, very much targeting the rise of China in the field of AI,” said Chen.
He noted how China could attract participants from its Belt and Road initiative, while the United States will probably have the support of its allies, such as Japan and Australia.
In his speech, Prime Minister LI underlined the Chinese “AI” plan to integrate technology into industries and said the country was willing to help other nations in technology, especially in the world. The category is loosely referred to less developed economies, in particular countries outside of American and European orbits.
Since 2022, the United States has sought to restrict China access to advanced semiconductors for the formation of AI models.
