Hey iPhone users! If you have not yet heard, a multitude of new exciting updates come to the Apple operating system this fall. No, it will not be called iOS 19 – it will be named iOS 26. The change for which we are the most excited is the new design in liquid glass (think of Windows Vista, but probably more thoughtful), which seems to be the biggest visual update of Apple for years. We spent two weeks test it – you can consult our detailed iOS 26 forecasting, or you can try it yourself by downloading and installing the public beta version, available now. (While the beta version is open to the public and stable, don’t forget that there is a certain risk involved in beta software.) Not ready to upgrade your smartphone this year? No worries, we will help you know if your phone can run iOS 26.
Last year, Apple did not have any iPhones on its eligibility list, but this is not the case for 2025 – some models are cut this time. All iPhone 8 models and the iPhone X have been the last to get started in 2023, and this year, 2018 models are left behind. If you have an ineligible device, you will not be able to download iOS 26 when available this fall.

Iphones compatible with iOS 26

What if I don’t want to buy a new iPhone?
If you want to continue using your old iPhone that is not supported by iOS 26, that’s good. However, you will miss the security updates that could potentially endanger your phone in malware and other threats. In addition, some applications may stop working if they need a certain version of iOS or later. And of course, you will not be able to access the latest iOS 26 tenders.
When will iOS 26 be available?
Apple generally deploys its latest iOS in mid-September, just a few days before new iphones reach store shelves. Last year, he published iOS 18 on Monday, September 16. Expect a confirmation of the release date at the iPhone 17 event, expected in early September.
IOS 26 features that fascinate us
Liquid glass design:: Your home screen is reworked with new application icons, including dark mode and very clear options. You will also notice buttons with a new floating design. Liquid glass has been designed to make all Apple bones more coherent.

Translate live: iOS 26 provides the possibility of having a conversation by telephone or SMS call with someone who speaks another language. Live Translate will translate your conversation into real time.
Characteristic of surveys: Coming to group messages in the messages application, cat members will be able to create surveys. This can help prevent 30 years and more unwanted messages when it comes to deciding on the restaurant you meet this weekend.
