Meta has acquired AI vocal startup wave waves for an undisclosed sum, Information reports. This is the latest purchase of the company to strengthen its new AI unit, the superintelligence laboratories and the second major audio acquisition of Meta Audio in the last month after buying Playai.
Wave forms, founded barely eight months ago, raised 40 million dollars from Andreessen Horowitz in a round that appreciated the company to $ 160 million of prior data, according to Pitchbook data.
Two of the co -founders of the startup – former researcher Meta and Openai, Alexis Conneau, and the former strategist of Google Advertising Coralie Lemaitre – would have joined Meta. During his stay in Openai, Conneau co-created neural networks in advanced GPT4-O vocal mode.
Techcrunch has contacted forms of waves to find out if its third co-founder and chief technologist, Kartikay Khandelwal, will also join Meta, as well as the result of the agreement for the other 14 staff (by LinkedIn) of the company.
