Waze will soon cut access to the new application updates for old Android devices, because a new update increases the requirements.
The latest Beta Android updates are preparing to cut access to future features for anyone using older Android devices. Indeed, Waze V5.9.90 and more now require Android 10 or more, as opposed to the Android 8.0 or more required by the existing stable update.
Waze has not yet deployed any of these superior requirements to the general public, but Some beta users have already noted That a pop-up in the Waze beta versions now explains that the management of Android 9.0 is finished. Although the full text of this opinion has not been shared, it apparently notes that Waze users on older versions will always be able to use the application, they will simply not get new application updates or new features in the future.
