Reminders in iOS 26 have a new powerful tool to organize tasks

Apple’s Rominders application is one of the many system applications obtaining new features in iOS 26. Among the handle of improvements to reminders, there is a new powerful tool to organize your tasks.

The Rominders of iOS 26 can now sort your tasks in sections automatically

With regard to task management, applications can sometimes be carried away with the number of features and parameters they offer.

Having an application rich in functionalities is excellent, but task managers can be mistaken in requiring too much time to organize your tasks. So, taking precious time, you could really get things done.

The application of Apple Recalls Balances the opposite direction in iOS 26.

There is a new feature of reminders that eliminates the work from the organization of your hands.

This is because in iOS 26, Apple Intelligence can now Automatically categorize your lists of reminders.

On all devices that support AI’s features, reminders are now displaying a new “self-stategorizing” option for lists.

Pressing this button will take a list of unorganized tasks and will sort them in the relevant categories.

The functionality will not change any integrated detail on the tasks themselves.

Rather, it uses the existing “sections” function which essentially allows you to organize tasks under different subtitles.

You can always create your own sections and organize this way. But with reminders in iOS 26, it is extremely easy to ask Apple Intelligence to do the work for you.

How I use automatic categorization in reminders

For one of my most used reminders lists, I used the automatic category and he created new sections like:

  • Work
  • Home
  • Health
  • Financial tasks
  • Cleaning and maintenance
  • Various and other
  • Travel and leisure

The AI did an excellent job by creating the sections, then automatically sorting my tasks in the right place.

In the previous versions of reminders, I have almost exclusively worked from smart lists today or planned.

My other lists were a waste crowded with unorganized tasks, so I found few advantages to open them.

But in iOS 26, I found myself spending more time in these other lists of reminders, because with an appropriate organization, they are more useful than ever.

Have you tried the automatic categorization function of iOS 26 for your lists of reminders? How did it work for you? Let us know in the comments.
