iOS 26 provides a new feature fueled by AI to prolong the battery life of your iPhone: this is how it works

Apple’s new iPhone launch is a few weeks old, which should be followed by the official deployment of the new iOS 26 operating system. While Liquid Glass stole the spotlight during the WWDC address of Apple earlier this year, there are other NIFTY features in the user interface which could also be real headaches.

One of the least known features of iOS 26 is a parameter called Adaptive Power, which uses AI to extend the lifespan of the iPhone battery during high use.

IPhone users already have the possibility of reducing brightness, deactivating the screen always on or, in the worst scenarios, to go into low power mode to cut the background activity and keep the power.

But the new adaptive power function works more intelligently. It only triggers during high power tasks such as recording videos, modification of photos or games.

When triggered, adaptive power supply makes small performance adjustments to stretch the battery life.

Apple description for adaptive power can be read as follows:

“When your use of your battery is higher than usual, the iPhone can make small performance adjustments to extend the lifespan of your battery, including a slightly drop in the screen or to allow certain activities to take a little more time. Low power mode can be activated at 20%. ”

How to activate adaptive power in iOS 26

The adaptive power setting is not activated by default. Here’s how you can turn it on:

Make sure you are currently directing the iOS 26 developer or the public beta version

Access Settings> Battery> Power mode

A new option for adaptive power should appear above the low power mode

Light it to activate smart battery savings

What devices are responsible for adaptive power?

Although Apple has not officially labeled the adaptive power in the context of Apple Intelligence, users on social networks report that functionality appears only on devices that support Apple Intelligence. Ancient iPhones do not obtain the option in the battery settings.

This means that adaptive power is limited to new devices starting with the iPhone 15 Pro range:
