Apesoft IVCS3, the EMS VCS3 EMS3 emulation for iOS, is now available for MacOS AUV3 as a free update for existing users.
Making music on iOS devices has been possible for over 10 years. With the introduction of audioobus or IAA and later of the AUV3 plugin standard, this experience was transmitted to a new level.
The Apesoft IVCS3 application, which authentically emulates the legendary EMS VCS3, was a first adopter on the platform. He is now 11 years old, and to celebrate, Apsoft adds a macOS support to IVCs3.
APESOFT IVCS3 MACOS
First and foremost, happy birthday, IVCs3. You have been part of the application landscape for 11 years and thanks to Appsoft for your continuous support. Even after 11 years, the application remains a must on iOS in my opinion. Even more with this update.
The new update 3.6 is free for all existing users. To benefit from the new Apesoft IVCS3 application on MacOS, you need an Apple Silicon computer, that is to say one with a chip M. If yes, access the Mac App Store and search for IVCS3, then click “Buy”.
The store will then recognize that you have already bought the application and that you can download it for free. It can be used as an autonomous application or as an AUV3 macOS instrument and an FX plugin. It works in Logic Pro, Mainstage 3, Ableton Live and Drumbo, among others.
Once downloaded, you have an emulation of EMS VCS3 synthesizer in your DAW MACOS.
Original approved features set
IVCS3 is a very classic emulation that the original developer, Peter Zinovvieff, approves. It offers a replication of functionality 1: 1 of the 1969 original, used by many artists / groups such as Pink Floyd or Jean Michel Jarre.
He has three oscillators (2 oscillators and LFO), a noise generator, two input amplifiers, a ring modulator, a low level filter (VCF), a trap (VCF), a reverbness generator wrapped in tread-on tension, a stereo-controlled stereo generator.
Of course, it also hosts the distinctive matrix of the patch map in which the pins are inserted to connect its components together. There is also a keyboard controller inspired by the original DK-1 controller and the emblematic joystick.
Unlike the original equipment, the Apesoft IVCS3 macOS also offers an integrated sequencer with up to 32 steps and an audio processor / recorder.
The graphical interface is a bit small for MacOS, but this is due to the AUV3 plugins on MacOS, which still do not take charge of scaling.
