Android continues to evolve and improve its communication features for its users, and the blue point is one of these improvements: this point indicates that improved messaging features have been activated.

Understand the blue point
You have probably already noticed that not all text messages and contacts have this unique blue point displayed next to them. RCS uses Internet connection to send high quality multimedia content. Press your Google Profile icon in the Android Messages application, then open “Message Settings”. From there, you can select “RCS” or “RCS cats” and activate the functionality from this menu. Why use RCS
The RCS comes with several really important advantages. First of all, it allows you to send large files such as videos, photos and documents to other people on Wi-Fi or data connection. It also displays the availability state of your contacts, so you will always know when it is the right time to discuss or send them something.
When the recipient reads your messages, and when they are tapping, you will know because this information is displayed (if this authorization is activated). That said, RCS is not just about showing you additional information on your contacts. It guarantees that your conversation remains private and secure because RCS messaging uses end -to -end encryption.
These features are useful, but Android does not force you to use them. You don’t need the RCS function activated for all your contacts if you don’t want it. You can easily delete it from one or more contacts in your messaging application. Simply find the contact in the messaging app and press / hold their profile photo until a “details” menu or their contact details appear. Then, you will have the possibility of switching cat features for this particular contact. Note that if you do, your messaging with this person will return to ordinary SMS and MMS.
