If you thought the smart glasses were cool now, wait until Meta unveils her next big project. Meta Hypernova is a pair of new generation smart glasses that would have been announced on September 17, 2025 at Meta Connect 2025.
Meta Hypernova has been disclosed and rumoring for months and seems to be an common ground between the computer in its own right on your face, Meta Orion and the current intelligent glasses powered by Meta Ai like Oakley Meta Hstn. If I will make a comparison, it is likely that these are similar to a smartwatch on your face, with regard to capacities.
They are also provided to ship With a group of gestures to make daily interaction a breeze. We have seen tons of leaks and information appear before the official unveiling and collected all in one place below for your convenience. Here is everything you need to know about Meta Hypernova!
Meta Hypernova: Price and availability
Meta Hypernova should be announced in Meta Connect on September 17, 2025. The new smart glasses are According to rumors, retail for $ 799 and should be excited with a SEMG gesture bracelet. It is believed that the name of the final retail product is “Meta Celeste”.
The glasses should be available a little later this fall, according to leaks, Meta believing that they will sell around 150,000 units in the first two years due to the price.
Meta Hypernova: design and features
Meta Hypernova’s disclosed renderings, seen above, have a global design similar to Wayfarer Ray-Ban glasses. The biggest difference between them is the thickness of the frames, because Hypernova must adapt to a screen in one of the objectives in addition to additional calculation circuits and a larger battery than the Smart Meta or Oakley Meta glasses.
A key differentiator between these intelligent glasses products and Hypernova is the inclusion of a single screen in one of the objectives. We do not yet know if it is customizable, But the first reports indicate that the screen will be in the lower part of the right objective. Meta is likely to use the Wave Guide to Hypernova, as the company was openly seen on this technology recently.
The small screen in a lens would act similarly to the screen on a smartwatch. Since it is small, Meta should keep things slaughter and provide information frozen. This is probably going from smartphone notifications to rotating directions. The leaks also note that a small application launcher can display six icons on the screen, similar to the model that we made in the image below.
Meta Hypernova probably uses a similar version of the Android operating system that we used on Meta Orion last year. This operating system resembles a light version of the Meta Horizon Android operating system, which feeds VR headsets like the Meta Quest 3. We expect the Hypernova operating system to be even more achieved, however, and it is unlikely that it has traditional windows or full -fledged applications like Orion Runs.
Rumors suggest that the glasses will be shipped with a handful of dedicated applications, with the potential for Meta to add more applications on the road. Meta Ai, Whatsapp, Facebook Messenger, a camera application and a map application are all considered preinstalled on each pair of intelligent Meta Hypernova glasses.
Unlike Meta Orion, Hypernova is not supposed to have a positional follow -up. This means that glasses will not be able to superimpose virtual objects in the real world like a Meta Quest helmet can currently. We expect later versions of meta-lunes to do so, however.
A new generation version of Meta Ai on board should be launched with Meta Hypernova glasses. It is said that this upgraded AI model is capable of using an AI live longer and allows more interactivity with Meta IA. This means that you can have seen and hear what you see for more of your day, helping you remember where you left your car keys or even what is someone’s name.
Google previously showed similar feature for its next smart glasses, both on Google I / O 2025 and during a TED Talk a few weeks earlier. Meta spends a lot on Meta Ai this year, so expect these new features and several other features to make their debut on Meta Hypernova.
Meta-hypernova: gesture bracelet
The greatest differentiating between Intelligent glasses and Meta Hypernova Android XR will be the way users interact with their glasses. The first batch of Android XR glasses will use a combination of Google Gemini and will slip on the lateral temple to interact with applications and notifications.
Meta Hypernova will also use Meta AI to interact with things, similar to the Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley smart glasses functionality, but users will find that hand gestures with the inclusive SEMG bracelet work better.
A SEMG bracelet allows you to interact more naturally with virtual interfaces by simply using your hands and supports an apparently endless variety of gestures. This GIF below shows you some of the gestures that Meta has developed, with a human hand on the left and a virtual representation of the way the glasses “see” your hand on the right.
A SEMG bracelet works by reading the electrical pulses in your muscles and even understands the slightest movements that you make with your hands. This allows a new generation hand input, which I used during my meta-order demo in 2024. It is not only extraordinarily effective; It looks like an evolutionary leap in interaction, the way in which multitouch displays were back in 2007 when the iPhone was launched.
This gives Meta a significant advantage on Google and its partners, because the voice interaction is only so useful. There are many situations when the use of vocal interaction is inappropriate, disruptive or simply impossible, and this group is there to solve this problem.
