If your father is the star of “Shark Tank” Mark Cuban, you will get free advice to navigate the labor market in the AI era.
“So, I had two children at university, and what I tell them is that if you were looking for a job in a large business, you are not going to get it,” said Cuban.
Cuban spoke during a joint interview at the top of all in the former presenter of Fox News Tucker Carlson when they were asked if the AI could move jobs.
The All-In summit took place in Los Angeles from September 7 to 9. A video recording from the Cuban interview was downloaded on Monday on the All-in Youtube “Podcast” channel.
Cuban said it would be difficult for a graduate to get a job in a large business now because these companies do not need their help in implementing AI in their workflows. Large companies can do it by themselves in the short term, he added.
“Small and medium-sized enterprises need all the help they can get the natives of AI. Because walking and understanding AI and being able to implement for this business is a huge step forward. So I think it is a way of adapting,” he continued.
Cuban said that the second thing he had told to his children was to fully make use of the resources they have, thanks to technology.
“There is no better time to be at university or simply graduated than at the moment, because you have more resources at your phone than anyone in the history of everything,” said Cuban.
“If you want to be an entrepreneur, if you want to do everything it is, you have all the experts who are available for you,” he added.
Cuban did not respond to a request for comments from Business Insider.
Cuban and other business leaders have pushed the message that young people should use their familiarity with AI tools to their advantage when looking for jobs.
Reid Hoffman, the co -founder of LinkedIn, said in a YouTube video published in June that young people have to adopt the fact that they are “generation AI” and be “native”.
“Bringing the fact that you have AI in your tool set is one of the things that makes you extremely attractive,” said Hoffman.
“Listen, on this side, it transforms the workspace, entry-level work, the confusion of employers. But on this side, it makes you show your unique capacities. This, you know, in an environment with a bunch of elderly people, you could be able to help them,” he added.
