Apple’s iphone 17 launch event came with eight new gadgets, including four new iPhones, three new smart watches and Apple Airpod earphones also used the launch to publish dates for its next software updates.
The iOS 26 version will see the iPhone 11 or later get an upgrade, and the software will land on Monday September 15. The same date will see the launches for iPados 26,, Watchos 26,, MacOS Tahoe 26,, and even visionos 26.
It is likely that your new phone will be able to download iOS 26 from 10 a.m. on Monday pt / 1 hour to 1 hour on Monday, if Apple follows its normal version calendar. You may have to wait a few hours for it to be available on your phone.
IOS 26 will bring its new design in liquid glass with a transparent look and layers for the interface of your phone. In PCMAG tests, the contributor Clay Halton said: “It is a major aesthetic change compared to the flatter and static design seen in recent iOS versions and a welcome addition.”
There is also an incoming overhaul for the photo application, a new hand mode for the application of the camera, more dynamic locking screen options, improvements in messages and many other features.
The iPados will also be launched on Monday, and it arrives on the iPad Pro M4, the iPad Pro 12.9 inch 3rd generation or later, and the 1st generation or later iPad Pro. It also arrives on the iPad Air M3 and M2, as well as the iPad Air 3rd generation or later. For the standard model, it will arrive at the iPad A16, alongside the 8th generation iPad or subsequent version, and the iPad Mini A17 Pro obtains the update alongside the iPad Mini 5th generation or later.
For the Apple Watch, things are a little simpler with Watchos 26 landing on all standard models of the Apple Watch Series 6 and UP, the Apple Watch SE 2 and all Apple Watch Ultra models. Apple Watch of 2020 is missing this upgrade.

For MacOS 26 Tahoe, there are a lot of products supported. These include the MacBook Air with Apple Silicon from 2020 or subsequent version, MacBook Pro with Apple Silicon from 2020 or subsequent version, 16-inch MacBook Pro from 2019 and the 13-inch MacBook Pro from 2020 with four Thunderbolt 3 ports.
The other models include the Mac Pro from 2019 or later, Mac Studio from 2022 or later, Mac Mini from 2020 or later and iMac from 2020 or subsequent. Finally, the Apple Vision Pro helmet obtains an update with Visionos 26 Landing on the helmet.
The next version of TVOS 26 has not yet obtained a firm date with the company which sticks to its message “to come this fall” on its website.
