Google published Android 16 in June, and when the phone is launched (3) in early July, there was no promise that it would deploy the update of Android 16 “later this fall”. Obviously, the phone nothing (3) should be the first online.
Today, the company began not to tease OS 4.0, based on Android 16, on its social media accounts. The short video that you can see below has a very fast overview of the icons that will be used in the new version, as well as a promise that nothing will be “refined” and “redefined”.

Although the Nothing (3) phone is the first device to be updated, the Nothing (1) phone will not do, because it has reached the end of its three years of promised software updates, after being published in July 2022.
That said, nothing from the CEO, Carl Pei, only promises her business works on “a program” for his “users of the day”, owners of the phone (1), without going into the most detail. Does that mean that the phone (1) will get Android 16, but maybe only as a beta version? Only time will tell us.
The phone (1) has reached the end of its software life cycle and will not receive anything SO 4.0. We have held our promise of 3 years of software updates, with another year of updating security updates. To thank our users of the day, we are working on a program for you. @Nothing How long can … https://t.co/ieolpid6t

Obviously, those who always use the first smartphone of nothing would appreciate it a lot if it was, but do not make your hopes for the moment – after all, the PEI has not really promised so far. We will let you know when we know more.
