The iOS 26 update should provide “a good design, intelligent experiences and improvements” to applications that users use every day.
Apple added: “The new design offers a more expressive and more delicious experience in the system while maintaining the instant familiarity of iOS.”
The upgrade is defined to include everything, with a new “Liquid Glass” design and updates to telephone and messages to the features added in Carplay, Apple Music, Maps and Wallet.
If you charge your phone overnight
The main vice-president of Apple software engineering, Craig Federighi, said: “iOS 26 shines with the new magnificent design and significant improvements to the features that users have every day, which makes the iPhone even more useful.
“The experiments are more expressive and more personal, the locking screen and the home screen, to new capacities on the phone and the messages that help users focus on the connections that count the most.
“And with new powerful Apple intelligence capacities integrated into the system, users can make things easier than ever.”
New features included with iOS 26
The new features that will be available as part of iOS 26 include:
- A new “liquid glass” design for your lock screen, your home screen, your control center, applications, and more
- Custom cats with new backgrounds and surveys in messages
- Live translation in messages, Facetime and the phone
- New screening tools in the phone, FaceTime and messages
- Arrangement of update photos
- Set the rehearsal period (between 1 and 15 minutes)
Apple Intelligence will also be integrated into even more places, thanks to the new software.
