Android Phones to finally obtain this basic feature that Samsung has had for years

If you are a longtime user of Samsung Galaxy who recently went to a Google Pixel, you have probably noticed that Android does not let you personalize the navigation buttons on the screen. While many manufacturers have switched to gestures, three buttons navigation is always one thing. And now, it seems that Android 16 finally corresponds to Samsung and will allow you to turn the rear button on the other side of the screen.

As many know, Stock Android only authorizes navigation buttons on the screen to use a specific provision. By default, it places the “rear” button on the left, “home” in the center and “recent applications” on the right. And since most people use phones in their right hand, it puts the back button far enough.

Many ROMs and other third -party manufacturers allow tons of personalization, including adjustments to these crucial commands on the screen. For example, I have changed the provision of the NAV button on Samsung Galaxy phones for years. Not only Samsung allows adjustments, but out of the box, Samsung already puts the back button at the bottom right, which is the opposite of the original android.

As you can see above, the Samsung buttons are slightly different from those of Google pixel devices. Consequently, anyone going to a pixel will have trouble, especially with muscle memory that always hits this corner to go back. Now it seems that Google is finally ready to implement this change.

Earlier this summer, we noticed that the latest Android Canary builds had a source code alluding to the possibility of exchanging the order of “back” and “recent” buttons in the three -button navigation bar. However, it was only the code submitted by the developers of Sony, and nothing more. Now it appears again, even closer to an official update.

Spotted by Android authorityThe latest Android 16 QPR2 Build Beta 2 officially added this long -awaited option that Samsung had had for years. Yes, pixel peripherals (and potentially all Android) could soon have more words to say about how we control phones. It should be noted that the parameter is not live or available in Android 16 QPR2, at least not yet. However, all the evidence strongly suggests that it will soon be here.

The site mentions the new official code and the parameters that include button browsing, button control, etc. This will allow Pixel phones to go from the rear, the house, from the held to what Samsung uses, which is “Recent, house, back.” Finally!

It should be noted that it is not because the code has been spotted in Beta Builds does not guarantee that it will arrive at the official version. But given that we have another toy QPR beta, there is a good chance that this will be put online with this software or the official version later this year. In any case, this should resolve a significant frustration for those who pass from Samsung phones to Google pixels. We will keep an eye on more details.
