The new iOS 26 Apple Carplay parameter is disabled by default but could make a huge difference if you light it

The new iOS 26 Apple Carplay has a very practical new feature, but it is not activated by default, so you will have to turn it on.

Apple recently launched its latest range of handsets, with the iPhone 17 and iPhone Air.

In addition to the new equipment, the technology giant has also published its latest operating system: iOS 26.

And it includes a very useful update for Carplay which could make life easier for users.

This new iOS 26 Apple Carplay feature could make life easier for users

As with any new Apple operating system, iOS 26 is delivered with a lot of new features, as well as its new “Liquid Glass” screen.

However, one of its more useful features is actually disabled by default, so you will have to turn it on, if you want to use it.

For the first time, Apple Carplay introduced an intelligent display zoom option, which allows it to better adapt to the shape and size of the screens by car and therefore make your screen more spacious.

“Vehicle screens are in many forms and sizes,” said Apple in a video.

“In iOS 26, some screen configurations allow drivers to adjust their display scale with a configurable smart display zoom in carplay settings. When the smart display zoom is activated, your carplay application will be automatically resized on the new display scale.”

As we have mentioned, this is not a default option for most cars, you will therefore have to switch it and, unfortunately, at least for the moment, it is not avoided on all cars.

When used, you will notice that your screen appears larger and that widgets, cards and more will be zoomed when they are used.

What can you expect from the new iOS 26?

In addition to the new Smart Display Zoom option, the new iOS 26 Apple Carplay has a series of new updates, including a new compact view for incoming calls, which allows you to see who calls without blocking any important information like the upcoming directions.

The new operating system is also delivered with Tapbacks, so you can quickly send a “boost” or “heart” in response to messages.

Apple also presents a live activity function, which will allow you to use cards while keeping an eye on other activities as you go.

For example, if you drive at the airport to pick up a boyfriend, you can use cards while being able to follow their flight in real time.
