Apple releases new AirPods Pro 3 beta firmware ahead of iOS 26.1


Earlier this week, Apple released a brand new firmware update for the AirPods Pro 3, AirPods Pro 2, and AirPods 4. But now, a few days later, a new beta the firmware has arrived too.

New firmware for AirPods available now

On Tuesday, Apple released the firmware version of AirPods 8A358 for several different models:

  • AirPods Pro 3
  • AirPods Pro 2
  • AirPods 4

Apple’s official release notes stated that the update included “bug fixes and other improvements.”

Two days later, another firmware version is available, but only for beta testers.

The new AirPods firmware is built 8B5014cand also supports AirPods Pro 3, AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4.

It is likely that this new beta firmware will be delivered to all users later this month, when iOS 26.1 is expected to launch.

iOS 26.1 includes a big expansion to AirPods Live Translation, increasing the set of supported languages ​​from six to 11 languages.

Apple uses beta firmware to test upcoming updates with a smaller number of users to fix bugs or other issues before the public launch.
