AI 411: October 2025


Welcome back to AI 411, a monthly roundup of AI announcements in healthcare.

October was a big month for health technology and it was the headliner of the HLTH 2025 conference in Las Vegas, which not only featured a dedicated AI space, but also many conversations about emerging technologies.

Here’s your breakdown of October’s health-related AI updates from across the industry.

AI alignment. AI governance and risk management company Alignmt AI announced on October 1 a collaboration with the MSK Innovation Hub at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, a cancer institution in New York, to help improve its governance of AI in oncology.

American Medical Association (AMA). On October 20, WADA launched a Center for Digital Health and AIa new initiative intended to integrate physicians in “the design, direction and implementation of technologies transforming medicine,” according to a press release. He covers the impact of AI on everything from policy to clinical workflow to education.

Empower AI. Agentic AI Company Autonomize AI on October 16 announced Autonomize AI Studio, a new workspace for providers to design operational and clinical workflows. The company also announced an agent marketplace that allows sales, clinical, and IT teams to create customizable AI agents to organize their workflows.

Brook.ai. Remote care monitoring company Brook.ai announced a $28 million Series B round Oct. 16, led by Massachusetts-based UMass Memorial Health and venture capital firm Morningside.

Speech from the Canaries. Canary Speech, which uses AI to power voice biomarker technology to screen for mental health and neurological disorders, launched Canary Ambient Continuous Monitoring on October 15. It provides continuous, real-time assault detection and ambient voice analysis for providers, with the goal of reducing violence against clinicians.

Navigate the healthcare industry

Healthcare Brew covers pharmaceutical developments, healthcare startups, the latest technologies and their impact on hospitals and providers to keep administrators and providers informed.

Heidi Health. Health technology company Heidi Health, which created an AI Care Partner to automate administrative work like documentation, announced a $65 million Series B fundraising round on Oct. 5. The financing was led by investment firm Point72 Private Investments and brings its total funding to approximately $100 million.

Hinge health. Digital physical therapy clinic Hinge Health launched two AI tools on October 21. The first is a motion analysis tool that uses computer vision to track and provide musculoskeletal care. The second, called Robin, is an AI-based assistant that supports patients during their pain flare-ups.

Penguin Ai. Healthcare technology Penguin Ai, which seeks to make care management more efficient, announced Oct. 16 a partnership with University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Enterprises to build new AI tools for the healthcare industry.

Twin health. AI digital twin company Twin Health announced a partnership with exercise company Peloton on October 14, allowing Twin Health members to add workouts to their AI digital twin care plans.

Namely.ai. Viz.ai, which develops AI for disease detection and care coordination, launched Viz Assist on October 20. The platform has AI agents that provide care teams with patient data so that clinicians can create more effective treatment plans and help improve patient outcomes.

Well, Sky. On October 8, health technology company WellSky announced WellSky Scribe, an ambient listening and note-taking tool for its electronic health records platform, WellSky Home Health.
