Android 16 beta 4 should be launched today, the last step until the stable release in June


Google publishes Android 16 Beta 4 today, April 17, 2025, making it the latest main beta version before the ultimate force test, which should arrive in early June. This update will be available for the Pixel 6, 7, 8 and 9 series, as well as for the Pixel fold and the 8a pixel, and perhaps even 9A. A good number of non -pixel devices, such as the Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi 14T Pro and OnePlus 13 series, will also have access through their respective beta programs.

Android 16 Beta 4 is called the “Release Candidate” construction, which means that it is very close to the final version which will be given to all users. The main objective of this version is to correct bugs, improve stability and polish the platform – essentially the final keys.

Google says that the stability of the platform has been reached in beta 3, so this update mainly solves the remaining problems. No big change is included in this version, because reported by Android Authority.

Earlier, the beta versions of Android 16 proved to have new safety measures, such as the verification identity, which is similar to the protection of Apple stolen devices. The other updates indicated in the previous betas include monitoring of battery health and some minor visual adjustments.

Developers have also received new APIs and system improvements, such as improving protection against redirecting intention, ultrahd image improvements and adaptive arrangements. Beta 4 can add minor visual adjustments, but most updates will probably be delivered with the stable version.

Users can update Beta 4 via a live update or by manually installing the factory image.
