When Apple reveals iOS 19 during the WWDC 2025, we expect to see several important updates of the mobile operating system of the company. A new rumor reveals an interesting change that could facilitate the use of larger iPhones.
The leak was reported by the controversial technology journalist Jon Prosser in his last Technological video of the first page (via 9TO5MAC). The video has several alleged changes to iOS 19.
According to Prosser, Apple plans to move the search bar in applications at the top of the screen at the bottom of the application.
Currently, in iOS 18, the search bar appears at the top of the application. For accessibility fans, this is not exactly the most comfortable position to draw.
But if this rumor is true, moving the lower search would facilitate the use of your iPhone in one hand.
In Prosser’s video, the indicated example is in a model of the messages application. Again, the search bar is currently located at the top of the application of messages and is revealed after a peak.
It seems that the search bar would be visible at any time in iOS 19 and millimeters from the bottom of your screen.
Prosser has also shown models of music and the App Store as examples of tab bars.
It is logical to place typable fields closer to the bottom of the screen, especially since your thumbs or fingers will already be there for the entry.
In a case of escape violence, at the time when Prosser’s video has dropped, Bloomberg Mark Gurman tweeted“IOS 19 floating images are not representative of what we will see at WWDC.”
He continued by saying that the images seemed to be based on older constructions or “waving descriptions”. And finished saying that the models – real or not – are “always exciting for the Apple Watchers”.
He was probably prosser subcontractor, especially since Prosser’s video was gaining a lot of warmth.
Depending on whether or not you believe Prosser or Gurman, it is a good reminder to take these things with a grain of salt.
And as Gurman noted, we will know more in June when Apple organizes its annual event WWDC 2025, where we expect to know more about all the different Apple operating systems, including iOS 19.
