Apple CEO, Tim Cook, welcomes customers at the opening of FIFTH Avenue Apple Store in September … More
Looking at the news and big titles of this Apple week, including the iPhone 17 Air Design, the new camera bar, an enveloping iPhone display, the important change in the iOS 19 user interface, the new Apple Watch features, EU Apple fines and questions about Apple’s price exemption.
Apple Loop is there to remind you of some of the many discussions around Apple in the last seven days. You can also read my weekly digestion of Android News here on Forbes.
IPhone 17 air design presented
The disclosed videos this week show the design of Apple’s alleged iPhone 17 air. The thin shape factor has been printed from CAD files used by third -party manufacturers to allow the construction of accessories such as cases and holders without needing access to production equipment. ::
“… Camera Bar aside, this dummy model is much thinner than the iPhone 16 pro in the video. You cannot quite understand exactly how thin, but the difference is probably one of the most important sales arguments of the iPhone 17. This supposes that this design is representative of the final telephone.”

New cases and the iPhone 17 pro camera bar
One of the remarkable features of the iPhone 17 family should be the camera bar. Rather than a raised “island” seen previously, the seventeen years will employ a raised bar extending on the back of the phones. A new set of third -party cases shows the considerable surface, as well as the supply of the potential colors of the finished iPhone:
“The images show the” Camera bar “type design and long -term for the rear, which places the cameras on the left side, while the Flash and Lidar sensor moves to the opposite side … In a photo, the camera bar is shown in a dark gray, but most of the images show the camera bar like white – suggesting that Apple will keep the color choices for the 17 pro Pro. “
Wrap the iPhone with a closer step
Apple’s quest to create an entirely glass iPhone continues inside the R&D department. The last step in this trip is an iPhone with an enveloping screen. Details in a recently updated patent (“electronic device with enveloping display”) show the hard work that is always set up, now with the addition of a curved screen:
“The patent refers to a flexible display in a transparent case. This display could then be able to present images on any part of the screen. It is this presentation company on any part of the apple that Apple seems to be the most lively. Apple says that it is a way to make the most of the otherly unused parts of a device, especially since the space is at a level so prior in a small device.”
iOS 19 moves ui
The days of a small form factor smartphone that can be used in one hand have been over for a long time, but user interfaces on large slabs that we call phones today assume that you can reach each part of the screen comfortably. This is why the upcoming change from Apple to iOS is both necessary and long awaited. The research bars move:
“The iPhone 17 of this fall will have an even larger screen, and of course the Pro Max display is already much larger. I imagine with the current iOS design, research often requires two hands. But with iOS 19, research moves to a much more natural location: below where your thumb is already.”

Apple Watch updates
Apple Watch users who install the latest updates will collect several quality of life features. One is a notification that the “silent mode” has been activated – a boon to your confidence in certain situations. Forbes contributor, David Phelan, takes a look at this and the rest of the Watchos 11.5:
“There are other new features in Watchos 11.4, such as Emoji, a corrective to change the faces of the watch and the compatibility between the domestic application and the robot vacuum cleaner. Oh, and there is something new on the way: an additional watch face and perhaps a new Apple Watch group arrives in Watchos 11.5.”

EU fine ample 500 million euros
The European Union’s digital market authority has inflicted a fine of $ 570 million concerning the anti-stenuation policies of the App Store that prevented developers from pointing to payment servers other than Apple. In addition to the fine, the EU competition authority required updated provisions around technical and commercial restrictions:
“The EU claims that the amount of 500 million euros was decided according to the severity and duration of Apple’s non-compliance. The EU announcement does not specify exactly what it finds in violation, although it is probably linked to the structure of the Apple App Store. Apple currently invoices a commission of more than 17% on purchases made outside the application.

And finally …
With the rest of the consumer electronics industry, Apple has experienced additional costs and additional charges thanks to President Trump’s prices on China. After an exemption offered to several companies, including Apple, Senator Elizabeth Warren questions the process:
“The circumstances surrounding Apple’s exemptions raise new concerns about the influence of pedors by huge well -connected companies, and their ability to acquire special favors from President Trump,” Warren wrote in a letter to Cook that was obtained by Bloomberg News … Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comments. “”
