Major Android updates have become quite boring from year to year. There is rarely an exciting characteristic, mainly comprising changes under the hood which go largely unnoticed. Even the next Android 16 update seems to be a minor test that is barely passionate. However, Google has large planned changes its sleeves, which will give Android its biggest facelift in years thanks to equipment 3.
Google recently confirmed that they would present their next version of the materials design language – Material 3, during their developer conference, or Android emission, some time around May. But thank you to the people Android authorityWe already have an early overview of the largest overhaul of Android.
Android Material 3 will be all about vagueness and transparency
Starting with the notification shade. Here you can take a look at the old and the new fast parameter panel. No, these are not hyperos or an IU. You look at Android of original. The overhaul of material 3 adds a fuzzy semi-transparent background, giving an appearance of frozen glass that looks quite modern.
Even the lights and the brightness cursor have been slightly modified, offering a tap on or deactivate the controls. As for the vague effect, it is also visible in other aspects of the Android user interface. You can see it when you access the recent pixel launcher page. It also appears when opening the application drawer or on the pin or password area in the lock screen.
A passage from the sparkling Android experience
With Android 12, all Android elements have received a more rounded pill -shaped cure. Now, with equipment 3, Google rethought these elements, gives them a practical and slightly more boxing attraction. Starting with the volume cursor, you can see that it is more rectangular now and has a thin handle to guide you where to touch to change the volume.
The same is true when you develop the volume panel or access the multimedia output switch on your Android. Even the parameter page obtains a colorful youthful treatment as part of Material 3 expressive. As you can see in the screenshots below, all the options on the Settings page will now have colored icons according to their category. This will facilitate access to a particular type of parameter in the application.
Each option of a parameter will appear in its separate card, with an arrow oriented to the right to indicate that you can dive deeper into this option.
Other subtle changes in expressive equipment 3
In addition to that, we will see other minor life changes arriving on Android. First of all, on the locking screen, the date and the weather will now appear under the clock instead of sitting at the top left. Notification icons will also appear as small icons that you can press to expand and read them.
This is called compact view, and you can activate or deactivate it from settings> Notifications> Notifications on the lock screen. The entry screen of the spindle will include daring and larger numbers for better visibility. Jumping into the home screen, there will be five new forms of icons, including “Carré”, “Cookie on four sides”, “Cookie with seven sides”, “Arch” and “Complex Trèfle”.
If you look closely at the status bar, you may notice that the icons have also been changed. Now, Wi-Fi and Network icons have a segmented look, a bit like what you get on Oneui 7. The battery icon is now horizontally and shows the current battery percentage inside the icon, and becomes green during the load.
So these are all the new changes to come on Android with expressive Material 3. It looks like a large overhaul, even greater than the U material in certain departments. But I do not think it appears with Android 16. Android Authority allowed these options manually on Android 16 Beta 4, but there is still no confirmation about the moment we could see these changes arrive.
Either Google will allow these elements later with the QPR builds for Pixel devices, or make them available with Android 17. We will only discover it in the next Google E / S. So stay listening for it and let us know what you think of equipment 3 changes in Android.
