Spotify adds subscription links external to the iOS application according to the decision of the American courtyard


Following a decision of the historic court, Spotify can now have subscription links in the iOS application in the United States which allow users to make payments externally, by bypassing all Apple payment systems. The company made this announcement today after having immediately sent an update of its application, which Apple had to approve following the orders of the court.

With this update, users can now see all the Spotify plans and promotions in the application and click on them to go to an external payment page. In doing so, the user bypassing Apple’s payment system, which, so without hassle, also billed costs of 30% in addition to plan costs. Apple cannot invoice 27% fees for external payments made or display frightening screens to the user when they click on external links, in accordance with court orders.

This free lunch at Spotify is graceful of Epic Games, which won a landslide victory against Apple on April 30 before an American court, where the judge ordered Apple to stop the developers of external payment links and also to stop frightening users who try to click on external links. The court also found Apple in violation of a previous decision which forced Apple to allow developers to direct users to other payment systems. In addition, an Apple vice-president was found in the file, which will have its own separate ramifications.

Apple is currently in the process of appealing the decision of the court.
