Apple is almost ready to send its next iPhone update: iOS 18.5 is coming next week and will bring a handful of new features to users. This is what happens.
# 1: Apple messaging application improvements
Last December, iOS 18.2 made major changes to Apple’s messaging application. The great overhaul and the new features of the reception box were somewhat controversial, however.
In iOS 18.5, Apple brings two improvements to the mail that should help:
- The previously hidden “All Mail” reception box is now visible
- and contact photos can be easily activated or deactivated
The first change facilitates the maintenance of new categories of reception boxes, while bouncing between categories and “all emails” views if necessary. Previously, you could only find “ all the mail ” only if you got there with a scanning gesture, but iOS 18.5 makes it visible on the right edge of the screen.
Not everyone is a fan of the addition of inspiration of contact photos messages to the reception box. If it’s you, pressing the three -point icon in the upper right corner now reveals an option to display or hide contact photos. You can do this from the front settings application, but now it’s just inside the application.
# 2: new wallpaper
It is rare that Apple adds new system screen wallpapers to iOS, but in recent years, the company has started to do so for certain annual occasions, such as pride.
Now in iOS 18.5, the integrated wallpapers of your iPhone include a whole new addition of pride. This is a new colorful option that joins the wallpapers of existing pride from previous years.
# 3: screen time notifications
The screen time is Apple’s tool game on iPhone, iPad and Mac to have a healthier approach to your technology.
One aspect of screen time is parental controls, and these get a good update in iOS 18.5.
Now, whenever a screen access code has entered your child’s device, you as a parent you will be informed. This guarantees that your child does not bypass screen times without your knowledge.
# 4: Apple TV Apple purchases without seam
The best experience on the big screen with the Apple TV application is usually on TVOS. But many users do not have an Apple TV 4K, and they stick to the Apple TV application integrated on their Smart TV.
In iOS 18.5, an iPhone functionality that previously worked with TVOS is now extended to third -party televisions and streaming devices.
“Buy with iPhone” allows you to buy content in the Apple TV application by authenticating on your iPhone.
Basically, if you want to subscribe to a new service inside the TV application or buy or rent a film, iOS 18.5 makes this experience more transparent than ever when using third -party television devices.
# 5: The features of satellites come on iPhone 13
Historically, if you wanted to use satellite features in iOS, you needed an iPhone 14 or more recent.
But that changes with iOS 18.5, which allows you to access the satellite features provided by operators on an iPhone 13, 13 mini, 13 pro or 13 pro max.
T-Mobile, for example, allows users to benefit from Satellite connectivity based on Starlink when you are in a area without network coverage.
However, some of Apple’s satellite characteristics – as Emergency sos via satellite—Ramain exclusive to more recent iPhones due to specific material requirements.
IOS 18.5 features: wrap
Overall, iOS 18.5 is a much smaller iPhone update than the standard. It is not entirely surprising, however, because Apple rarely adds large features of new features at the end of the annual cycle of a version.
Next month, iOS 19 will be unveiled at WWDC. This major update has occupied Apple’s engineering resources for some time now. Thus, all the remaining iOS 18 updates will offer more minor modifications and bug corrections.
