Randy Travis looks at artificial intelligence (AI) to continue producing new music, more than a decade after its almost deadly stroke.
In 2013, the stroke of Travis left him the aphasia – which is the loss of capacity to understand or express a discourse.
With the help of the AI and the Country James Dupré musician, Travis has been able to produce two new songs since his stroke, “where it came from” in 2024 and now his last single, “Horses in Heaven”. He has been on his “most tour of life” since last spring and recently extended the dates in the fall of 2025.

Randy’s wife Mary Travis joined her for an interview with Garden and firearm To explain how her husband used AI for new music.
What is artificial intelligence (AI)?
“People think that you just plug it into a computer and it spits a song and there is no creativity. It couldn’t be more distant from the truth. It took eleven months. As most people make an album, we made a song,” she told the point of sale.

“Kyle Lehning, Randy’s long -standing producer, sent the raw voice of around 45 of Randy’s songs in London, where they were placed in the model using a vocal line provided by the singer of Country music James Dupré. They were able to choose the stems of the voice of Randy songs and place them on the vocal line.
“When he came back from London, Kyle and Randy worked their magic in the studio to perfect the song, refining it to make sure that his tone, his inflections, everything was what Randy sang. When we finally heard the result, we knew it was worth it,” said Mary.

She added: “I hope this will establish a precedent for what AI is used for.”
Thanks to AI, Travis was able to return on tour. Dupré was on tour with him, helping as a special guest singer on “More Life Tour” of the music legend, which started last spring.

When Garden & Gun asked Randy how excited he was to prolong his tour, he smiled and said: “Just a lot. Yeah.”
Mary added: “He likes to be with his fans. He likes the energy of the scene. People always ask if it is difficult for him to hear his music played by someone else. I think that for some people, but for Randy, it’s like no, I’m good with that. Music belongs to everyone.”

Mary said to the point of sale that the AI had been “wonderful” for her husband.
“In 2013, it was not something that we could perceive on the horizon. The AI came so fast and furiously. When we were approached by Cris Lacy in Warner, it was exciting. I wanted to hear this voice more than anything – I have been doing it for 12 years now.
“Randy has always been a pioneer in music. When you think about Toby Keith’s song,” don’t leave the old man “, it’s Randy Travis. He doesn’t leave the old man. He will continue to think about what we can do to make a difference,” she said at the exit.

In 2023, Randy and Mary spoke to Fox News Digital of her state before A tribute concert, which also collected funds for the Randy Travis Foundation. The foundation focuses on strokes and awareness of aphasia and supporting musical education in schools.
“We want people to understand brain vascular accidents, cerebral vascular accidents, that there is life after a stroke,” said Mary at the time. “We found that all the rehabilitation we have experienced, life is the best rehabilitation. Go ahead. Go and do what you are used to doing. You know, the world may ask you why you are here, but go ahead and, you know, dancing like nobody looked and sings as if nobody listens and have a good time. It is really the best therapy.”

“He is very faithful,” she said. “We, you know, we have looked hard at God. It’s been 10 years now since the time, and it’s hard to believe. … There are really no words for that, and there is not a day that I do not thank God for his grace and his mercy.”
