After the web overhaul and other modifications, Google presents a new prompt bar for the Gemini application on Android.
Gemini goes from a field of text in the form of a pill to a rounded rectangle (before even entering text). Under “Ask Gemini”, you get a row of actions, starting with the “Plus” menu which is now much shorter when open. You simply get a camera, a gallery, files and a reader in the lower sheet.
Then, a pill -shaped button for “research” and “canvas”. Press the three -point icon in a circle to see these elements in the form of a list with brief descriptions, as well as a video (Veo 2 Generation). The fleas will remain highlighted during the tap.
If you open the model selector, Google has deleted Deep Research and Veo 2 (for advanced subscribers). They are better considered as gemini capacities than models for general use, new fleas having the benefit of being always visible. As such, the menu is now four models:
- 2.0 Flash: Quick help
- 2.5 Flash (overview): Our next reasoning model built for speed
- 2.5 Pro (overview): Reasoning, mathematics and code
- Personalization (preview): Depending on your research history
The vocal input microphone and the Gemini Live button complete this redesign of the quick bar.
As the first seen on gemini.google.comGoogle is more explicit about what Gemini can do with explicit chips.
We are looking for this quick bar overhaul on Gemini for Android with the latest Google Beta application. It is not yet on the iPhone and iPad client.
