  • Google has confirmed that the live update of Android 16 will arrive on Samsung, OnePlus, Vivo and Xiaomi devices, outside of Pixel phones.
  • Samsung will integrate live updates into its bar now, something that a recent leak from the User Interface 8 also presented.
  • OnePlus will introduce the functionality via its live alert system, while Vivo and Xiaomi Plan to incorporate live updates into their own personalized skins.

Google has confirmed That one of the outside competitions of Android 16 – live updates – will not be limited to Pixel devices. The functionality will also take place on Samsung, OnePlus, Vivo and Xiaomi smartphones later this year.

Live updates, introduced for the first time with the Android 16 Beta, offers real -time progress notifications for applications such as food delivery, carpooling and navigation services. Instead of opening individual applications, users can display live updates, for example when an Uber arrives or how far a delivery is, directly on their locking or its reception screens.

At Google I / S, the company presented the functionality in more detail, highlighting its features and its interactive options. Unlike Apple’s version on iPhones, live updates of Android will allow you to take direct measures, such as the call of a pilot, sending a message or tilting, directly from notification.

According to Google, Samsung plans to integrate live updates in its bar now as part of the next User interface update 8 based on Android 16. The disclosed versions have already shown How the functionality will appear on Galaxy devices, but you can see Google’s official representation of live updates on galaxy phones in the integrated GIF above.

Meanwhile, OnePlus will incorporate functionality via living alerts, a system introduced into Oxygen OS 15 which is similar to Apple’s dynamic island.

Vivo and Xiaomi will also integrate live updates into their respective Android skins.

Currently, live updates are limited to specific applications categories, namely delivery, carpooling and navigation, but a wider support could follow future updates.
