All iOS 18.5 features I recommend trying after update

We quickly arrive on WWDC, the Apple annual conference, where we expect great announcements. In the meantime, Apple launched iOS 18.5 on May 12.

iOS 18.5 perhaps may not be the biggest Update of the year of iOS 18, but it still introduces a range of updates and useful features. Whenever a new version of iOS is published, I always rush to discover the new features. After all, who knows what additions could facilitate the use of my smartphone and easier?

Because I have experienced all the new iOS 18.5 features, you don’t necessarily have to do it – but you could always want it. So, after having stopped procrastination and updated your iPhone, try all the new iOS 18.5 features below. I will also explain why you should give them a more in -depth exam.

Apple mail updates

Apple Mail recently obtained a fairly substantial refreshment, and although changes in iOS 18.5 are not as major, there are still some changes that could be useful.

Some of these features include parameters that you can control directly from the messaging application itself, instead of having to search the iOS settings menu. Now when you press the three -point menu button in the upper right corner, you can switch the contact photos, which you may or may not want to activate.

Few people know the rear tap, but it is a fairly practical feature that allows you to trigger an action simply by pressing on the back of your phone two or three times. With iOS 18.5, there is finally a parameter that allows you to obtain an alert when you have triggered a tap back – including how many times you have exploited the back of the phone.

This new feature is not activated by default. To access it, you will have to open the Settings application, then go to accessibility, then touch. Go to the bottom of the screen and select Back Tap. Here, you can switch to the Banner Show option, as well as access to the other rear tap parameters that were previously available.

Know when your children cracked the code

The screen time is also changes in iOS 18.5, largely in the form of what parents have access. With the update, parents will now be informed when their screenword of screen time has been entered into their child’s device, which will alert parents when their children have discovered the code. It can be difficult to prevent your child from trying to understand your code, but at least now you will know when he will.

Define a load limit

Apple also adds more parameters to the battery section of the Settings application. The common reflection suggests that the constant load of the battery at 100% will degrade its health in relation to long -term use, and if you plan to keep your device for more than a few years, it may be useful to set a battery load limit to help avoid this. To access this parameter, head to the Settings application and access the battery section. Then press the load option. From there, you can define a load limit using a cursor, with the limit between 80% and 100%.

Of course, it should be noted that if you set the battery charge limit at 90%, you can never use more than 90% of the battery – and if you had adjusted it 100%, it would take years before the battery degrades enough to last the equivalent of 90% of a new battery. For the most part, a better option is to use the “optimized battery load” function, which charges the device at 80% during daily costs, but allows your device to reach 100% when your phone thinks that you will have to use it.

Try the new Wallpaper of Harmony Pride

IOS 18.5 also includes new ro -wallpaper from Pride Harmony in the month of pride. IOS already includes a range of pride wallpapers, but if you are curious to know the new one, you can access it by opening the Settings application, scrolling down to the wallpaper and following the screen prompts to change your wallpaper. You can access a version of the wallpaper for your iPad, iPhone and Apple Watch.

More some iOS 18 features more than we love …

Since iOS 18.5 was a lighter update, we also wanted to share some of the best iOS 18 features that you may have missed.

If you want to make your iPhone even more useful, try these new features and these new tools:

Call recording and transcription

Originally introduced with iOS 18.1, it is an incredibly practical feature for journalists – or anyone needs to take notes on a call. With this feature, you can save a phone call (and obtain a surprisingly precise transcription) directly in the iPhone. When you are on a call, click on the waveform icon in the top left of the screen. Then you will see a notification (and the person at the other end of the call will hear a notification) to start recording the call.

Eight new emojis!

The update of April to iOS 18.4 brought something enormous: eight new emojis.

More specifically, we had:

Adjust the brightness of the flashlight

Do you find the flashlight on your blinding iPhone? You can finally adjust the force of the flashlight beam, as long as you have an iPhone 14 pro or a more recent device.

Now when you activate the flashlight, a new control panel should appear, which allows you to adjust both the brightness and the width of the light.
