Android XR has arrived, but Google does not do it alone – far from it.
Instead, Google is associated with a multitude of partners who will launch Android XR Lunes and Headsets. It is an exact correspondence of how he manages Android on smartphones, although at the time of writing, he has not yet announced a kind of internal Google Pixel glasses.
There are still a lot of Android XR details, but here is everything we know about five brands to make smart glasses with Google, as well as my best assumptions about the type of glasses they will make according to what has been announced and what these companies have done before.
1. Samsung Smart Lunes
Ignoring Qualcomm, Samsung seems to be the closest Android XR collaborator in Google. In terms of physical material, it is also the only device we have seen in action, with Google, the leaders mounted on stage of Google I / O and previously during a TED conversation to present the specifications of the Samsung prototype.
Samsung currently defines what XR is. In other words, it is pretty thin, it packs a camera to take photos and provide AI with a visual entry, and it offers a screen so that the glasses can share information with you visually and not only on the sound level (what the Meta Ray-Ban intelligent Glasses are currently limited).
There is no word on an release date for these specifications, but they are rumors for a launch in 2026.
2. “Project aura” by Xreal
The next step is XREAL, the manufacturer of the XREAL One glasses, which (at the time of writing) dominate our choices of the best smart glasses.
It also makes Android XR glasses, currently known as Project Aura.
They look a lot like a pair of XREAL One glasses with an integrated camera. They will even be attached rather than wireless (which could help maintain the cost and the weight somewhat) to correspond to the usual approach of XREAL XR glasses.
Again, we have no words at the moment when they could be launched, but since Xreal showed us an image of Project will have (something that cannot be said for most of the entries on this list), we hope that the specifications arrive earlier than late.
3. Intelligent specifications of Warby Parker
Warby Parker offers a range of sunglasses, and this is one of the three fashion brands that Google says it works on Android XR devices.
Like each entry on this list, he has not yet given us a release date for his specifications, but he published an image of his smart glasses (which you can see above).
The elegant and standard shape of his intelligent glasses captures precisely what the style of Warby Parker glasses is. It will not surprise you aesthetically, but its frames have a reliable look and all day which is perfect for the smart glasses that you will always want to wear.
Given that Warby Parker offers a range of types of objectives, including prescription objectives, we expect his intelligent glasses to follow this trend, although they do not have a display for the goal.
Like the other fashion brands of this list in which we are about to dive, I expect them to start with simple AI glasses (in fact the Gemini versions of the existing Meta Ray-Ban), which should be cheaper and easier to produce than complete AR glasses, which seems to be the main objective of Samsung.
4. Monster Monster Android XR Glasses
If Warby Parker is at the most traditional end of the spectrum of the glasses, a gentle monster struts noisily to the other.
They sell these more normal glasses, but they also have rotating conceptions decorated with jewelry or daring factors.
Gentle Monster has not yet presented its intelligent glasses, but I hope it is one of those larger designs that obtains the Android XR treatment, something that really stands out against Ray-Ban meta-lunes rather than trying to imitate them.
Despite my wishes, I expect this not for several reasons, including the need for these smart glasses to please a large audience for their childhood.
This is supported by the previous one of Gentle Monster Intelligent glasses collaborate with HuaweiWho were more standard frames improved by integrated speakers for music and calls.
5. Eyewear Kering x Android XR
Finally, we have Kering Eyewear, the most recent addition to the Android XR family.
When Google announced its collaboration with four brands for the first time, there were only four of us knowing, but in the days that followed, Kering Eyewear announced his plans for smart glasses.
We have not yet seen what specifications he works on, but on the basis of his previous collaborations with Gucci, Balenciaga, McQueen and others, we expect an increased traditional design.
It is not as there that some of the approaches of Gentle Monster glasses, but it is more striking than the frames that you would see of Warby Parker.
