Apple is preparing for its large global conference for developers (WWDC 2025), which should take place from June 9 to 13. Now the reports indicate that Apple will reveal a new design language for all its software, including iOS which feeds the iPhone, at WWDC. It has been supposed that Apple will introduce a new user interface interface to make iOS, iPados, macOS and other more unified and functional software.
According to the latest power of the Bloomberg Mark Gurman newsletter, Apple is likely to introduce a new user interface to unify the visual experience on iOS, iPados, MacOS and other Apple operating systems. Internal nicknamed “Solarium”, this new user interface would have a new design language inspired by Apple Visionos – The software used in its vision pro helmet.
Gurman suggests that the new user interface would bring more elegant visuals, improved consistency and more immersive experience for users of Apple’s ecosystem. Consequently, we could see the new design bring frosty glass effects, round squirt icons and floating user interface elements offering a more layer look.
It should be noted that Apple has not officially detailed the overhaul of “Solarium”. However, reports on a major revision of the user interface has been circulating on the internet for some time. Previous leaks have mentioned a new user interface, offering more transparent icon conceptions. Now Bloomberg also reports that the Solarium interface would take its name in sunny spaces surrounded by glass, which alludes to a lighter and more translucent design philosophy.
The overhaul will not be limited to mobile and office platforms. TVOS and Watchos will also likely receive visual updates bringing them closer to the appearance of iOS 19 and MacOS 16. Meanwhile, Visionos should see refinements.
The overhaul of the interface would be one of the three main themes of WWDC 2025. The other two probably include the deployment of new Apple intelligence features and important iPados 19 improvements, with a renewed accent on multitasking and productivity, as Gurman previously suggested.
Apple will start WWDC 2025 with a Keynote on June 9. The event will be posted at 10 a.m. PDT, at 10:30 p.m. IST. The company will broadcast the WWDC 2025 event live on the Apple website, Apple TV App and its YouTube channel.
