After showing the design updated last month, Google started very slowly to deploy the expressive update of equipment 3 for Gmail on Android, but you probably don’t have it.
Google announced the expressive equipment 3 in May as a new design language that will take over in Android, starting with the second Android 16 update later this year. But Android as a whole is not the only thing to update. Google will also update a number of its apps with expressive Material 3, and it seems that Gmail for Android is among the first online.
In an overview video, Google briefly offered a peak at Material 3 expressive in Gmail, and it is a fairly modest update as a whole. Our Abner Li previously described the update saying:
In the case of Gmail, we see the view of the reworked reception box. In particular, your list of messages is displayed on a card with rounded upper corners. When you slip to archives (or another personalized action), there is a prominent animation. Meanwhile, the search field, the hamburger button and the account switch are on a separate background layer which has a more dynamic theme. The Fab “Composer” is also much more daring compared to the front.
Now this update seems to start deploying users. In recent days, some very limited public reports show that the update is starting to surface. A phone nothing Owner on Reddit Spotted the update on their device a few days ago and shared a recording of the sweeping animation, while another user shared screenshots of the update On Twitter / X From what seems to be a OnePlus apparatus. In the meantime, Android authority quotes a user on Telegram which shared certain screenshots of real emails in the new design format.
The expressive update of Gmail equipment 3, once again, is not the largest that we will see, but it is interesting to see it as one of the first to start deploying. We do not yet see these changes on our devices, but let’s know in the comments below if you see the update. It seems to be on the server side.
