What’s going with Watchos
Whether you call it Watchos 12 or Watchos 26, Apple’s Smart Watch software will get an overview at WWDC. And while the redesign affecting all Apple software should also be visible on the Apple Watch – in particular the glassy look which should reflect the visionos interface – some Other Watcho changes could be in store.
More specifically, rumor says that a kind of blood pressure monitoring functionality could find its way to Apple Watch. We also expect a kind of new training metric – perhaps a daily energy score that corresponds to a feature found on watches and fitness trackers from Samsung, Google and Garmin.
And while Apple Intelligence appears to take a rear seat at WWDC this year, some features fueled by AI could make its debut on the Apple Watch. It is rumor that the notification summaries fed by AI could appear on the Apple Watch in the context of this Watchos update.
TVOS 26 under the spotlight
TVOS is often the forgotten software update in WWDC, but I don’t think this will be the case this year. With the rest of the Apple software, the operating system that feeds the Apple TV decor is Scheduled for a new look. (And a new name too, TVOS 26 taking the place of TVOS 19.
Interface changes include translucent menus, a new shiny glass look and rounded icons in TVOS which is provided for other Apple software. The update interface could also announce the Arrival of a new Apple TV deviceAlthough we will probably not discover it until later in the year. You imagine TVOS could also feed the Homepod screen equipped version It is supposed to be also during Apple.
What will be the size of the interface revision?
In its reports on Apple Solarium plans – in particular the modifications coming from the iOS – Mark Gurman of Bloomberg software called the new look Potentially “the most dramatic overhaul” in Apple’s story.
This is certainly the biggest change in the appearance of Apple’s telephone software for a long time, because the basic elements of iPhone software have remained almost in place since iOS 7. It’s a dozen years.
I am generally not inclined to adopt the change – in particular the widespread change – but forward WWDC 2025, I am quite optimistic about the new interface. Yes, iOS 19 (or iOS 26 if you prefer) will be different from what has come before. But from what I have seen from the interface renderings, the software will operate largely in the same way.
With the exception of the search bar moving at the bottom of the screen, most of what you already have in iPhone software will always be there – it will be just different.
It is at least my hope before the IOS overview.
Name changes: iOS 26, iPados 26 and more
We thought that WWDC 2025 would bring us iOS 19, Watchos 12, MacOS 16 etc. We always get overdates of these updates, but they can arrive under different names.
Mark Gurman from Bloomberg announced last month that Apple can move on to a new name system for its software versions. The current approach simply uses the version number, but Apple would be ready to go to a system based on the year.
So, instead of iOS 19, the version of the iPhone software that we will see on WWDC will probably be iOS 26.
We will have to wait for an official explanation of Apple for change, but we assume that it is a decision to highlight a uniform experience on Apple devices – a bit like the redesign of the software which also considers that WWDC.
Prepare for the solarium
The big news from WWDC is as an interface overhaul for all Apple software, the new look being called “Solarium” Within the cuprinto walls.
This code name provides something with an index on the features that arrive via the redesign – a solarium is an enclosure with a lot of glass, allowing the light to pass. Think of the translucent panels and menus appearing in the following versions of iOS, macOS and more.
The new look is apparently inspired by Apple Visionos, and if you have never had the chance to try the helmets powered by this software, be sure to read our Apple Vision Pro ReviewPay a particular spirit in the section on the software interface.
If you want to see how Solarium could have an impact Example of iOS screenshots Based on the pre-liberated versions of the next Apple iPhone software. In addition to translucent menus, we see design keys such as rounded icons and controls, search bars moving at the bottom of Apple integrated applications and more.
