- The company now tells them that because of “unforeseen circumstances”, it provides for a September 4 event.
- We do not know if the release plans were affected, but the last leak we saw indicates a launch in mid-August.
Google Pixel 10 smartphones are on the way, and except feel a little nervous about pixel batteries in general these days, we are otherwise extremely excited for the coming launch. Beyond the meeting of the new “pixelsnap” accessories from Google, we also expect a significant change in silicon supplying the phone, while Google goes to the advanced manufacturing of TSMC for the G5 tensor chip. At this point, we are really waiting to get our hands on real equipment.
At the end of last month, we heard of a lucky group who had early access to “pre-liberation pixel devices”, strongly turning on the presence of Pixel 10. Google sent these invitations to members of its Pixel Superfans group, and told them that the few elected officials could attend a practical event in London scheduled for June 27.
At the time, we wondered if it could indicate that Google plans to drag its launch plans a little earlier in the year – perhaps at some point in July, a few weeks before the last year’s event of August 13.
It did not take long for better theory to land, and in just a few days, we have heard of leaks that again identified August as Google’s launch target – returning first on August 13, before suggesting later on August 20, instead.
Google has still not publicly confirmed its calendar for the launch of Pixel 10, but today, the company has donated these superfans Pixel with bad news. Here is what Google sent them an email:
Although we can no longer extend the invitations to the Pixel Penthouse event due to unforeseen circumstances, we are delighted to offer you an exclusive alternative price: an early invitation to our next event, Pixel Superfans Insider Event, September 4.
We do not know what way of “unforeseen circumstances” could be involved here – for everything we know, it could be something as harmless as a planning problem with the place. What we do not want to do is move to speculation on the pixel 10 of delays in the absence of real evidence in this direction. And for the moment, all of this is simply circumstantial.
However, we cannot help but ask ourselves what could really happen behind the scenes – even if there is a good chance that we will never really know it. For the moment, anyway, our tourist sites are still downright locked in August for our first chance of meeting the Pixel 10 family.
