Google is testing a new launch animation for the Gemini superposition with Android 16 QPR1 Beta 2. It also suggests that the missing vibration is only a bug.
With Beta 2, the gesture “Press the power button” to launch the Gemini to vibrate. Haptic comments when accessing the Power menu remains, so this is most likely a bug for the digital assistant option.
Google is now testing a new launch animation for the superposition of the Gemini. For users who have this A / B test, the vibration is back. When activating, your current screen is starting to shrink.
When the black borders (which come from all sides) reach their most distant point, the superposition of the Gemini begins to slide with a sharing screen with live, ask the screen and the Ask Gemini field, with its usual animation. At the same time, the window returns to its full screen interface and you can ask your question.
It looks well on a device (and is completely smooth compared to the hard edges which appear briefly in the screenshot above), the planned visual effect being the way in which the physical borders of your display are shrinking. It is not widely deployed and appears only on one of our pixel devices.
In addition to this gemini launch animation, Android 16 QPR1 BETA 2 is also A / B TEST A research field of pixel launcher redesigned with AI mode. It disappeared in all my devices on Friday, but the new gradient logo “G” is still there.
