The Iranian crypto exchange market has lost $ 100 million in assets because of the pirates, triggering an internet breakdown at the national level almost nationwide while the struggle of the Islamic Republic with Israel degenerates.
The power outages took place Thursday after the state limited to the internet access to the public on the cyber attack on Nobitex, the greatest exchange of cryptocurrency in Tehran, according to the Ministry of Iran of Communications.
The pro-Israeli pirate group “Sparrow predatory” claimed the responsibility of the attack, accusing Nobitex of helping Tehran to escape Western sanctions and to transfer money to the Iranian nuclear program.
“The active ingredients left in Nobitex are now completely out,” praised the group on Telegram.
While Nobitex has not yet publicly confirmed the attack, the company has closed its application and its website to assess “unauthorized access” found on its systems.
The invisible Nobitex included the flights of several cryptocurrencies, notably Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin and more, according to Andrew Fierman, head of the national security intelligence chain.
“(The attack is) particularly significant given the relatively modest size of the Iranian cryptocurrency market,” he said.

The Sparrow predator previously claimed the responsibility of other high -level cyber attacks on Iran, including the hacking of 2021 which saw the country’s service stations stop – as well as the 2022 attack which sparked a big fire in a steel.
While Israel has praised the group’s hacks in the past and suggested that he had links with the Jewish state, Jerusalem has never officially recognized links with the predatory Sparrow.
