Before the depreciation of Google Assistant later in 2025, the Gemini application on Android can now identify the songs with the help of Google Search.
At the end of April, Gemini’s response to “What Song is this” would always order you to “use a musical recognition application”. Google Assistant would start to listen to music and show you the result.
In recent weeks, Gemini on Android has been updated to launch the excellent “song search” capacity of the Google application. This opens the complete interface with a pustulant sphere, with results opening the Google application. The bottom of the screen notes how “the songs that match will open in Google Search. Press Close to cancel ”.
It is not native and online, but better that Gemini cannot help and give you a long response in text on this subject.
Old vs new
Google Assistant was how I looked for songs. With the transition to Gemini, I ended up using the home screen or the shortcut of quick parameters for the search for songs in a boring change of habit.
I am happy to be able to use vocal commands to find music playing in the real world. Gemini has made this change in recent weeks on Android. On iOS, “What Song This” does not open the search for songs.
