There are a lot of new things to come in iOS 26, including hidden features that you may not know. And, as more and more people use the beta version of the iOS 26 developer, the more we learn about the type of thing that the software could include when the final version arrives on iPhones later this year.
It also turns out that Apple also seems to extend the capacities of existing functionalities in iOS 26. According to two reports macrumors, Apple extends the cinematographic mode and the audio mixture to third -party applications, which means that you should be able to access the two features in places other than the Apple camera and photo applications.
Audio mix
AUDIO MIX is an AI function exclusive to the iPhone 16 family, including the iPhone 16th. The idea behind this is that you can change the sound of a video after its recording, allowing you to change things like the level of background noise or to improve the volume of people who speak.
IOS 26 beta allows third -party applications to offer the same audio mixture features which were previously exclusive to the Apple Photos application. According to MacRumors, it will start with third -party applications on MacOS Tahoe, and it is not clear if other iPhone 16 applications will obtain the same upgrades.
There are three additional parameters offered with Audio Mix, after “Standard”, which is the official term of the original recorded audio.
In the frame reduces the sounds and voice of everything that cannot be seen on the camera, while Studio Reduces background noise and reverberation – to imitate the way audio rings when saved in a professional studio. Cinematographic, As its name suggests, it is supposed to imitate audio from films. This means that the voices are on the front track, while the bottom noises are left in its environment.
The videos must be saved with space-in-audio, which is activated by default on the iPhone 16. So, if you have deactivated this, you may want to dive into the settings and bring it back.
Cinematographic mode
The cinematographic mode is much less restrictive, because it has already been available for a few years and can be found on several generations of iPhone. In fact, to the iPhone 13 series.
Initially, the cinematographic mode could only be recorded in the Apple Camera application, Apple adding third-party edition and reading in iOS 17. But from WWDC 2025, Apple has published a new APL which also allows third-party applications to record images-offering an experience in all-in-one film mode.
The cinematographic mode was built after the way they film Hollywood films, and uses something called “Rack Focus” to move the development of one subject to another in a more transparent way, which is happening with a depth of field effect.
The APK is still new, it is therefore not clear what applications will really implement this new feature. What we know is that iOS 26 will be the software that will make the cinematographic mode third party possible.
