Apple has said that it would not publish new features provided for European Union users this year, as regulations on the law on digital markets will make them difficult or impossible to deliver them to the EU because this would compromise the safety and confidentiality of users.
Edith Hancock for the Wall Street Journal::
The company’s lawyers said on Monday that tools such as a “placed place” service that follows and records where users were not deployed in the EU when it publishes its iOS 26 software update this year.
Apple has regularly criticized this law, claiming that it degrades the quality of its products, opens users with confidentiality and security risks and makes new software features in Europe more complicated.
“We have already had to make the decision to delay the publication of products and features, we announced this month for our EU clients,” said Kyle Andeer, Vice-President, Apple Legal, to a workshop with EU officials and developers in Brussels. User safety could be compromised if the company is forced to open its ecosystem to competitors, Andeer said.
Andeer has also criticized the DMA more widely, saying that business changes have had to bring to its products in accordance with the rules since last year “create real risk of confidentiality, security and security for our users”.

The European Union occurred because Europeans could not compete alone with the rest of the world, they therefore aligned themselves to make their national sovereignty, their unique cultures and their dignity for an anti -democratic, opaque, unnecessary, swollen and bureaucratic blob, they still cannot conclude. – MacDailyNews, March 4, 2024
