Tl; DR
- Google Photos obtains a new photo view, with a light mode, rationalized menus and a clearer placement for the details of the image.
- The photo view will now display interactive badges that allow you to take various measures.
- The update is currently taking place for Google Photos users on iOS and will arrive at Android users on a later date.
Google photos frequently updates its interface and its settings, and it is redo With a reworked photo view, that is to say the screen you see when you open an image in the Google Photos app.
This update introduces three major modifications to the photo view which will be immediately noticeable when the update strikes your application:
Dynamic light mode: Google Photos is now supporting a light mode which automatically aligns the system theme of your device. Instead of always displaying photos on a black background, the application will now reflect the preference in clear or dark mode of your device.
Lighter photo details: The date, time and location information will now appear directly on your photos, eliminating the need to slide up to display these details.
Three -point menu widened: The three -point menu in the upper right corner of the photo view now includes more actions, such as:
- About
- Google Lens
- Create (let yourself create a collage, a cinematographic photo or highlight a video)
- Casting
- Save under (for live photos or in motion)
- Download or delete device
There is also a new three -point context menu for selected miniatures. This facilitates the management of photo batteries and shots. You can modify the upper choice, remove from the battery, untangle or multi-selection to take actions by lots.
Finally, Google Photos will now display interactive badges in the photo view that will allow you to take the following measures:
- Change the photo category
- Play or break a live or movement photo
- Save a shared photo in your library
- Save the photo or manage storage options
All previous features remain in place. The “Add to” button at the bottom always allows you to organize photos in albums, archive them or move them to your locked folder.
Google says that update is now available for Google Photos users on iOS. Android users will obtain the “soon” update, but for the moment, they must wait. Meanwhile, Google Photos is also preparing a large update of its publisher, which will soon include an updated user interface, smarter tools and improved organization.
