As a person who uses Android every day, the arrival of a new major version is always an exciting moment for me.
It is generally quite easy to plan when it will happen too. A few exceptions, Google seemed to have settled in a coherent version window in September / October.
So far, it is. With Android 16, Google decided that June 10 was the most appropriate release date. June! Before summer officially begins, and more than two months before the planned launch of the Pixel 10 series.
As you can imagine, I was excited. As a person who used the Pixel 9 Pro XL (one of the rare devices currently compatible) for months, I was ready to experience something new.
However, my experience with Android 16 so far could not have been more disappointing. A combination of missing features and broken features let me regret being among the first adopters.
Material not very expressive
Android 16 will bring a lot of changes to him, but undoubtedly the most important is “expressive material 3″. This new design language is a big change compared to the previous interface “ You ” material, using color, shape and movement to try to provide an experience that is no longer personal and interesting.
Based on the official screenshots and the descriptions of Google, I am not convinced that it will be a successful decision, although it is part of the De Gen Z Target demographic group. But I am very excited to try it and have opened me to change my mind.
Unfortunately, unless I download the beta version, I will not be lucky to soon. Expressive equipment will not be really available before QPR1 update, with rumors suggesting that its launch could coincide with Pixel 10 on August 20. At the time of writing the editorial staff, it’s seven weeks! The current version is disappointing familiar.
My question is: why? Why launch “Android 16” as a half -cooked version without its title changes? Why not wait later in the year when the expressive equipment is really available? And why pretend that people get Android 16, when it’s really just an Android 15 overhauled for now?
The version of Android 16 that I currently use is not fully devoid of modifications, with a new VIP widget, support for personalized stickers and all -time photography advice in progress. But none of these elements will convince anyone to upgrade – I would certainly not have disturbed myself if I knew it.
I would have liked never to be upgraded (or demoted, in this case), especially on my main phone
It really bothers me
However, Android 16 has a much greater problem than lacking new features. It is a buggy disorder at the moment, at least according to my experience.
Here are all the problems I have encountered since obtaining Android 16 a few weeks ago: the application is blocking daily; Insensitive applications several times per week; parts of an application superimposed several times on several occasions; 10 pop-ups, three seconds intervals, asking me if I wanted to close the “non-reactive” Whatsapp or wait (it worked very well).

Oh, and once the phone died and did not answer for several minutes, despite its charges. He finally returned to life after connecting and kept the power button intermittently.
None of these major problems themselves (except perhaps the insensitive phone), but they are all very boring. Combined, the bugs have an awkward and frustrating experience on which you just can’t count.
Consequently, the version of Android 16 on my Pixel 9 Pro XL is undoubtedly worse than Android 15. I want me to have ever upgraded (or downgraded, in this case), especially on my main phone, and I urge you to do the same, at least until most bugs are corrected.
Otherwise, you could participate in some unpleasant surprises.
