Tl; DR
- Google deploys an update of the user interface for the Gemini application on Android tablets which shrink the size of the superposition.
- The new overlap is about a third of the width of the screen instead of two thirds and is anchored on the right side.
- This updated interface applies only to the standard experience of Gemini and seems to be part of a slow deployment on the server side.
There are a lot of IA chatbots you can talk about these days, but I personally use Google Gemini on all my devices. It is intelligent, integrates with my favorite Google services and is available outside the box on all my Android devices. Although the experience was largely the same in my phones and tablets, Google recently made a few small adjustments to take into account the differences in form factor.
For example, Google recently deployed an update of the user interface that provided the Gemini mobile application more in accordance with the web version. The update has added a navigation drawer to the left side which is extended by default on the tablets but collapsed on the phones. Now, the company deploys another update which narrows the superposition of Gemini on the shelves.
As the screenshots below show, the superposition of the Gemini on my tablet is now much narrower. Previously, it lasted almost two thirds of the width of the screen; Now it only takes a third party. The superposition is also anchored on the right side of the screen instead of the center, which makes orders easier to reach.
Tapping the text box always moves the superposition in the middle so that you can more easily see what you type. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be a way to move the superposition of the Gemini to the left, which could embarrass the left -handers.
This new user interface only applies to the standard Gemini experience, not to Gemini Live. However, we have already found evidence suggesting that Google is also working on a more compact superposition for Gemini Live. It is possible that this updated interface is also narrowed and moved to the side, but we will not know it with certainty until it deploys.
This new superposition of Gemini seems to be taking place slowly. Until now, in addition to myself, we are only aware of two other people who have the functionality: a user named Lord resets on X and another gelatinized on Discord. If you see this new Gemini superposition user interface on your Android or foldable book tablet, let us know in the comments below!
