A new leak has revealed several of the new generation fleas from Apple to come on future iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV and HomePod Mini.
Last month, an individual in China downloaded a YouTube video (with English subtitles) of an alleged engineering prototype of the iPhone 16 of last year. According to a Macrumors TIETSTER, the device performs an internal construction of iOS 18 from March 2024, but it is a non -UI version, which means that you cannot load the home screen or other interfaces.
In the code of this internal version iOS 18, there are code names and identifiers for many Apple to come, depending on the video and our prognostician:
- Chip a19 For the iPhone 17, the iPhone 17 and probably the iPhone 17th
- Puce A19 Pro For the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max
- M5 chip For the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Mac Mini, IMAC, iPad Pro and Vision Pro
- Chip M5 Pro For the MacBook Pro and Mac Mini
- S11 chip For the Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3 and Apple Watch Se 3
- MODEM C2 For the iPhone 17th, probably the entire iPhone 18 range, and more
- ProximaThe code name for a whole new Wi-Fi and a Bluetooth chip designed by Apple
Most of them are obvious tokens of a higher number than commonly, but the brand new “Proxima” chip is a little more interesting. The chip was reported for the first time last year by Bloombergis Mark Gurman, and he said that it would be included in the new Apple TV and Homepod Mini models launched later this year. It also expects that at least some iPhone 17 models use the chip, as well as future iPad and Mac models from next year.
Similar to the way Apple has abandoned Intel for Mac processors and how it started to move away from Qualcomm for iPhone modems, the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Bluetooth chip on the company will allow it to replace a chip currently supplied by Broadcom. The Apple chip should support the 6th Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi 7, which would be an upgrade for the Apple TV (currently on Wi-Fi 6) and the HomePod Mini (currently on Wi-Fi 4).
Our prediction also said that Apple had tested a Mac Pro with an ultra M3 chip, but it is not clear if it will be published at this stage. They also discovered evidence that Apple does not intend to publish an ultra M4 chip, as the company already implies it strongly, it is therefore possible that the Mac Pro is not updated as long as an ultra M5 chip is not ready.
