GLADSTONE, N.J. (WABC) — The United States Geological Survey reported a 2.6 magnitude aftershock in Gladstone, New Jersey, on Wednesday morning.
According to the USGS, the aftershock was reported around 7:01 a.m.
The most recent aftershock before this was last Saturday, also in Gladstone, with a magnitude of 2.8.
Similarly, a magnitude 2.6 earthquake was reported in Gladstone on the morning of April 10.
Wednesday’s aftershock comes just weeks after a 4.8 magnitude earthquake shook millions of people in the New York area in early April.
The epicenter was near the train station in Whitehouse, New Jersey, about 45 miles west of New York.

Dr. Samantha Tramontano, a geologist at the Museum of Natural History in New York, talks about the recent earthquake and its aftershocks.
Since then, several other earthquakes have been felt in the neighboring region, and experts say small aftershocks could occur several days or even weeks after the main event.
The 4.8 magnitude earthquake is the largest in the tri-state area since 1973.
