One of the best advantages of having an iPhone is the amount of accessories available. Just as Android fans may not like to admit it, find the perfect case, the screen protector, the load quay, etc., for an iPhone is much easier than doing the same for a Samsung or Google Pixel galaxy. This point has become even more apparent when Apple added Magsafe to the iPhone in 2020 – opening a brand new world of magnetic accessories on which Android phones had to sit.
I have a good part of Magsafe accessories that I use daily with my iPhone 16 daily. There is an Aukey load quay on my bedside table on which I put my iPhone every night before bed. I also use the Magsafe portfolio of Peak Design as a choice of choice. It is thin, houses all the cards I need and remain conveniently at the back of my iPhone when I am on the go.
More recently, I added another Magsafe accessory to my arsenal. Believe it or not, it is one of the best Android brands. OnePlus launched the Slim Magnetic Power Bank at the end of last month, and it quickly became one of my favorite iPhone accessories of the year.

It is the Magsafe battery pack that I was waiting for

On paper, OnePlus’s food bank may not seem to be special. It has a capacity of 5,000 mAh, LEDs to indicate its remaining load level and temperature control tools to ensure the safety of your phone – all quite typical things. Many accessory brands offer magnetic power banks like this, many of which have higher battery capacities and additional goodies such as an integrated crutch.

OnePlus battery on a Belkin.
So, what is the magnetic power bank OnePlus Slim makes it so special? This is the design.
As its name suggests, OnePlus’s food bank is slim. But it’s not just a little thin – it’s really, Really thin. The feed bank measures only 8.8 mm thick and weighs only 120 grams. For comparison, a 5,000 mAh Belkin power bank that I have is almost double the thickness at 16.5 mm.

It is a big difference on paper, but it is even greater in practice. Just as I liked to use the Belkin Power Bank in recent months, it looks like a brick next to the OnePlus accessory. The two battery packs add a bulge to the back of my iPhone when attached, but Belkin’s food bank makes it considerably heavier than when I use OnePlus. I can obviously still say that the ONPLUS food bank is attached, but to a much less measure than that of Belkin (and most of the other Magsafe power banks that I used).
Not only does it make a difference when maintaining my iPhone, but this slimming is also felt in my pocket. It is possible to adapt my iPhone with the Belkin Power Bank in my pocket, but thanks to its additional thickness, it looks and seems quite annoying. OnePlus battery, on the other hand, is barely noticeable.
Of course, there are compromises that OnePlus made so that the thin bench of magnetic power is as thin as it is. There is no crutch at the rear, no integrated load cable and no larger capacities beyond 5,000 mAh. Many other batteries offer all these things, and if that’s what you are looking for, you will be better suited by endless competition.
The OnePlus food bank looks exactly like the accessory I looked for.
But that’s not what I want from an electricity bank. My main priority is to have something I can slap on my phone when I need more juice during your trips. I don’t need the greatest possible capacity; I just want something that will add a few more hours of use without transforming my phone into a hulk. This is precisely what I get with the magnetic power bank OnePlus Slim, and combined with its fantastic aluminum box, it looks exactly like the accessory that I looked for.
A fantastic accessory that could have been more

As much as I like the OnePlus battery as an accessory for my iPhone, I can’t help but think how much it could have been more in a world with a widespread adoption of Qi2. With a magnetic case for the OnePlus 13, the food bank works as well as with my iPhone. But this is where the problem lies. Since the OnePlus 13 does not have an integrated Qi2 – as it is true for almost all Android phones available today – you have Have a magnetic case to work.
If you are a person of cases, it does not matter. But if you are like me and use your phones without case, it’s a real damage. I would like to be able to use the Slim Magnetic Power Bank with my OnePlus 13, Galaxy S25 Ultra or any other Android phone that I test. But without a magnetic case for them, I cannot.

This is not a specific problem with OnePlus battery, but it is made by a prominent Android phone brand highlights a larger projector. Iphones have benefited from Magsafe accessories for almost five years now, but there is no sign of Android phones obtaining a Qi2 magnetic support from so early. Despite this, companies like OnePlus create perfect magnetic accessories for phones equipped with Qi2 and use the strip of magnetic cases to support them.
If you have an iPhone (or an Android phone with a magnetic case), the OnePlus Slim magnetic food bank is a killer accessory. It is practically perfect for what I want with a battery like this, and it quickly became my essential food bank for my iPhone 16. I just want it to be also that I could easily use with my Android phones.
