Google has now deployed the redesigned pixel launcher search bar (in the United States) and the launching animation of Gemini (for everyone) to Android 16 QPR1 BETA 2 users.
The bar at the bottom of the pixel launcher now looks like the search widget offered by the Google application, as well as Circle To Search.
The old field – with the “G” logo of gradient, the vocal research microphone and the shortcut of the Google lens – has been narrowed and moved to the left. This makes room for a circular AI mode button where this Google search function is offered. Everything is then housed in a pill -shaped container.
If you have activated themed icons, the four Google colors give way to a dynamic color. Otherwise, the shortcut cannot be modified or deleted from this beta version, while there is no colorization of color or transparency.
Those who outside the United States without search for AI always see the old more complete design. Google will probably update it to place the search bar in a wider container.
Meanwhile, Google has largely deployed a new animation when you press the power button for a long time to launch the superposition of Gemini. Your screen will shrink with black edges from all sides. Gemini then slides while everything comes back in full size. This also brings back vibration feedback when you press a long time.
The new pixel launcher search bar and the gemini launch animation take place as an updates on the server side.
