Apple and Anthropic reportedly partner to build an AI coding platform

Apple and Anthropic combine to create a “room coding” software platform that will use a generative AI to write, modify and test the code for programmers, Bloomberg reported on Friday.

The iPhone manufacturer plans to deploy the software internally, according to Bloomberg, but has not decided if it will launch it publicly. The system is a new version of Apple’s programming software, Xcode, and is based on the Claude Sonnet of Anthropic model, according to the report.

To speed up its AI efforts, Apple seems to exploit a network of partners. OPENAI’s chatgpt already helps to supply Apple Intelligence’s features of the company, and Google Gemini can be added as an alternative option in the future, Apple said. Now Anthropic can help Apple writing code internally.

Among the developers, the latest Claude d’Anthropic models are particularly popular for coding tasks, especially on ambient coding platforms such as cursor and windsurfing.
