In fact, the company was to launch a revised version of Siri propelled by AI this year, but this initiative was delayed by one year due to the reverse. Despite its difficulties, CEO Tim Cook recently announced that the company would increase its investments in AI. In an approach “If you can’t beat them, join them”, Apple may consider turning to Gemini to get help.

According to BloombergApple is first discussion with Google to reorganize Siri with Gemini. It would seem that the company based in Cupertino approached Google to build a personalized AI model which would serve as a Siri foundation, which will be launched next year. Sources close to the question say that Google has already started to form a model that can work on Apple servers. It is said that the talks are simply exploratory, so there are not yet official commercial negotiations.
While Apple and Google are rival, the two parties have history of cooperation. For example, Google has long been a research partnership with Apple, which is currently examined by the United States Ministry of Justice. Google also made public that it was in place to integrate its AI services into the iPhone.
Earlier this year, it was reported that Apple was looking at Anthropic and Openai for his siri overhaul. Anthropic seemed to have the inner track on the opportunity, but its financial requests led Apple to open research to others. It seems that the company’s talks with Google have not derailed this possibility. The technology giant has also not excluded using its own AI models.
Instead, Apple has been reported that Apple has a little competition that led him to develop two versions of Siri. A version, named Linwood, is powered by AI internal models. The other version, the Glenwood code name, is based on third -party models. Apple would have sought to see which approach works best.
If Apple enters a Siri partnership, Bloomberg Indicates that the AI model will operate on Apple private cloud servers. Consequently, a new improved Siri that runs on an external model would not run on the device.
This news arrives after a recent report said that Siri was in store for a major overhaul. This overhaul would allow the assistant to control a variety of third -party applications and carry out specific actions in these applications.
