Apple Intelligence to get Google Gemini this year, perhaps alongside iOS 19

After Samsung introduced Google Gemini to the Galaxy S25 phones and before, Apple seeks to do the same as its AI features remain incomplete. Google and Apple have been in talks for about a year and CEO Sundar Pichai just revealed that the two companies are almost ready to finalize their collaboration. Apple Intelligence, also offers OpenAi Chatppt to supply some of the AI features on the IPhone 16 series. The company initially promised a ton of new AI tools, but has struggled to deliver them on time. As such, bringing Google Gemini to Apple devices is even more important than ever.

The comparison of the AI and Apple intelligence of Samsung very clearly shows that the tools fueled by Gemini for the former are leagues in front of Apple software. Although the use of Gemini would lose Apple a little more of its exclusivity, it will finally bring AI to the iPhone on a par with competitors.

I expect that each time that Apple will finally sort the Siri overhaul and other promised features, it will mainly return by mainly using its own tools. This offer also consists of offering Gemini as another option on the iPhone and not a complete replacement of existing AI features.

Apple is serious about AI, but made the mistake of jumping too early in the train without anything concrete to show it. The use of Google Gemini also allows Apple to provide its users with certain AI features for the moment while it works on its own set of AI tools for the future.

Google Gemini are currently one of the best known AI models on the market. Competitors include the aforementioned chatgpt of Openai, Meta Llama and the controversial Chinese Ai Deepseek. While Apple now seeks to integrate Gemini on most markets, he always tries to conclude an agreement with a Chinese AI company to finally bring Apple Intelligence to China.

Pichai revealed the details of his company’s agreement with Apple during current audiences on the Safari browser using Google as a default search engine. If the agreement is finalized – which seems very likely – then it will probably be announced in June at the WWDC event of Apple alongside iOS 19.
