If this is the first time that you have set up a beta version of iOS on your iPhone, you will have to register for Apple Beta software by going to beta.apple.com. If you have already registered in the past, ignore this step and start at the start of the previous paragraph.
Before doing anything, you have to save your phone. Even if it is a public beta version, there is still a chance that a feature you need on your iPhone stop working due to a bug created by work on the beta version. At some point, with the iOS 26 The beta developer running on my iPhone, incoming calls have stopped ringing until the next beta version was broadcast.

The biggest change that you will notice with the update is the design of liquid glass which reveals many buttons as if you are looking for a liquid glass version. There are other changes to the user interface for the telephone application that you will need to familiarize yourself. For example, the functionality of the favorites has been replaced by avatars of people and places you call the most. Instead of typing the favorite tab, there is a “calls” tab at the bottom of the screen which, when depressed, will display the avatars of your favorites at the top of the screen. The tapping on the avatar will begin the call.
Also on this page will be your recent calls, with tabs for contacts, keyboard and search. Press the three -line icon at the top right, and you can choose between this new unified look or what Apple calls “classic”.
One thing you will not see, these are changes to Siri, because the plans to update the digital assistant have been delayed.
